Honorable Mention — Field Guide

Taiwan Beaches

Honorable Mention — no national programme

Taiwan carries no Blue Flag certification — its beaches appear here as editorial honorable mentions. Between the north coast's dark volcanic sand and Kenting's southern coral bays, the island earns its page on merit.

A Blue Flag is awarded season by season for excellent bathing-water quality, safety, services, and environmental management — what a Blue Flag beach means explains the certification in full.

Field notes — quick answers

Does Taiwan have Blue Flag beaches?

No — Taiwan does not currently operate a national Blue Flag programme, so none of its beaches carry the certification. The beaches we map there are editorial honorable mentions, chosen on merit and clearly labelled as uncertified.

How current is this Taiwan beach list?

Certification is seasonal, so we track the 2026 season and update listings as national juries publish changes. Beaches that hold Blue Flag certification and uncertified "Certification Candidate" beaches are always labelled separately.
