Honorable Mention — Field Guide
Thailand Beaches
Thailand operates no national Blue Flag programme — these are honorable mentions, chosen editorially. The Andaman coast around Krabi and Phuket holds some of the most photographed water in the world; the distinction we draw is honesty, not quality.
A Blue Flag is awarded season by season for excellent bathing-water quality, safety, services, and environmental management — what a Blue Flag beach means explains the certification in full.

Field notes — quick answers
Does Thailand have Blue Flag beaches?
No — Thailand does not currently operate a national Blue Flag programme, so none of its beaches carry the certification. The beaches we map there are editorial honorable mentions, chosen on merit and clearly labelled as uncertified.
How current is this Thailand beach list?
Certification is seasonal, so we track the 2026 season and update listings as national juries publish changes. Beaches that hold Blue Flag certification and uncertified "Certification Candidate" beaches are always labelled separately.
